2008 Committees

Business – Be a voice for the business community.  Provide educational opportunities to members.  Promote chamber businesses.  Identify resources for businesses. 

Chairperson:  Ken Cobbs, Dominos Pizza

Civic & Community Action – Promote goodwill and enhance the quality of life.

Chairperson:  Shawn Stone, First National Bank

Economic Development/Legislative - Provide programs and services that supports the economic vitality of the community and identify ways to grow.  Keep members abreast of current and new legislation that affects the business community.

Chairperson:  Scott Reynolds, Subway

Finance -  Responsibility for Chamber finances.

Chairperson: Waverly Coggsdale, Town of Altavista

Fundraising -  Determine necessary fundraising events that will be necessary to support the Chambers programs provided for the members. 

Chairperson: Hope Bradner, Bradner, Farmer, Towler

Internal Affairs – Administer the day to day affairs of the Chamber.

Chairperson: Bill Smith, Gray & Smith Insurance

Membership – Seek to identify the needs of the members and provide program of work that will be a value to all members.

Public Relations – Promote programs & events of the Chamber in a variety of media.

Technology – Responsible for the technology of the Chamber.  Be a resource to smaller Chamber members.
